How Much Does House Cleaning Cost in Philadelphia? Prices by Home Size (2026)

If you are pricing a house cleaning in Philadelphia, the useful answer is a number, not a range of guesses. This page gives ours, from the same published catalog the booking form charges from: what a clean costs for a studio, a 1-bedroom apartment, a 2-bedroom and a 3-bedroom rowhome on each of our four tiers, what each bathroom and add-on adds, and what a recurring plan takes off. It also covers the factors that move cleaning prices anywhere in the city, so you can compare quotes like for like.

How much does home cleaning cost in Philadelphia?

A studio is $215 for a Standard clean, a 1-bedroom apartment is $220, and a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath rowhome is $275. A deep clean of a 1-bedroom apartment is $305. House cleaning prices by home size

The bedroom line runs from $20 for a studio to $95 for 8 or more bedrooms. The size band is the one question people usually skip: Cozy, up to 2,500 square feet, adds $0, and the booking form describes it as most homes: studios, lofts, townhouses and 2 to 3 bedroom family homes. Here is each home size on all four tiers, one-time, before sales tax.

Studio apartment cleaning rates

A studio with one bath is $215 for a Standard clean: the $170 base, $20 for the studio and $25 for the bath. It is $300 for Deep, $335 for Move-in / move-out and $375 for Dream Home. Any studio up to 2,500 square feet sits in the Cozy band, so its size line is $0. See studio cleaning cost on every plan.

1-bedroom apartment cleaning prices

A 1-bedroom apartment with one bath is $220 for a Standard clean ($170 + $25 + $25). A deep clean of a 1-bedroom apartment is $305, and it is $340 for Move-in / move-out and $380 for Dream Home. A half bath moves the bathroom line from $25 to $30, so a 1-bedroom with 1.5 baths is $225 Standard and $310 Deep. See 1-bedroom cleaning cost.

2-bedroom cleaning prices

A 2-bedroom home with one bath is $230 for a Standard clean ($170 + $35 + $25). It is $315 for Deep, $350 for Move-in / move-out and $390 for Dream Home. With a second full bath it is $245 Standard and $330 Deep. See 2-bedroom cleaning cost.

3-bedroom rowhome cleaning prices

A 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath rowhome in the Spacious band (up to 3,000 square feet) is $275 for a Standard clean: $170 + $45 for bedrooms + $30 for baths + $30 for size. It is $360 for Deep, $395 for Move-in / move-out and $435 for Dream Home. If your rowhome is under 2,500 square feet it sits in the Cozy band, and the same Standard clean is $245. See 3-bedroom cleaning cost.

4-bedroom and larger homes

A 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath home in the Large band (up to 3,500 square feet) is $330 for a Standard clean, $415 for Deep, $450 for Move-in / move-out and $490 for Dream Home. The ladders keep going: bathrooms run to 8 ($100), and the Luxury band, the largest on the form at up to 4,000 square feet, adds $90. See 4-bedroom cleaning cost.

What each bathroom adds to the cost

Bathrooms are priced as their own line, and half baths count. There is no standalone bathroom-only price or hourly rate: bathrooms are cleaned as part of the visit you book, and the bathroom line is what your home's bathroom count adds to it. The totals are a one-time Standard clean of a 2-bedroom home in the Cozy band.

BathroomsBathroom line2-bedroom Standard total
1+$25$230
1.5+$30$235
2+$40$245
2.5+$45$250
3+$50$255
3.5+$55$260
4+$60$265

The Standard checklist's bathroom list has 10 items, including "Clean Entire Toilet / Behind Toilet / Toilet Handle" and "Clean Showerhead, Faucets, and Handles". A Deep clean adds "Deeply Scrub & Disinfect Bathtub / Showerhead" and "Deeply Scrub Interior / Exterior of Toilets". Every tier's full list is on our cleaning checklist.

What add-ons cost

Add-ons are flat prices added to the service line, and each one lengthens the visit by about the time shown. The last column is read from our published checklists: where a tier already lists the task, it is included rather than charged.

Add-onPriceAdds aboutAlready included in

Clean Interior Windows (6 Max)$6035 minutesMove-in / move-out, Dream Home

Because add-ons sit inside the service line, a recurring discount comes off them too. If you need the inside of the oven, fridge and cabinets, price the Move-in / move-out tier before stacking add-ons: a Deep clean of the rowhome with those three is $460, and Move-in / move-out, which already includes them, is $395.

Recurring plans: what weekly, every 2 weeks and every 4 weeks take off

A recurring plan takes its percentage off the whole service line, add-ons included, on every visit, starting with the first. Per visit, Standard, before sales tax:

PlanDiscount1 bed · 1 bath3 bed · 1.5 bath rowhome
One-time0%$220$275
Every 4 weeks5%$209$261.25
Every 2 weeks10%$198$247.50
Weekly15%$187$233.75

Checkout charges to the cent, so $247.50 is the exact service line for the rowhome every two weeks. As of published catalog version 20 (September 23, 2026), the catalog also carries a first-cleaning offer of up to 10% off the first visit on any plan, one-time included, applied after the plan discount: the 1-bedroom's one-time Standard clean is $198 for that first visit. Our line-by-line receipt breakdown walks through the arithmetic.

Maid vs housekeeper vs cleaning service: what you are actually paying for

"How much is a maid" and "how much is a housekeeper" are usually the same question as "how much is a house cleaning", but the price buys different things. An independent housekeeper sets their own rate, hourly or flat, and the checking is yours: their insurance, their supplies, who comes when they are sick, and taxes. The IRS says a household worker is your employee if you can control not only what work is done but how it is done, and sets a yearly cash-wage threshold at which Social Security and Medicare taxes start to apply (IRS Publication 926).

A cleaning company or a marketplace like Hometress prices the visit instead of the hour. With us that price is flat and published, supplies and equipment are included, and it pays for a background-checked independent professional, the published checklist for the tier you book, and the White Glove Guarantee if something is missed. Hometress carries general liability insurance that may cover damage resulting directly from a cleaner's negligence during your service; the exclusions and the claim process are in Section 5.5 of our Terms. Our guide to an independent cleaner vs a cleaning company compares the three side by side.

What affects cleaning prices in Philadelphia

Knowing what moves a cleaning price helps you compare quotes like for like.

Home Size and Layout: Bigger homes with more rooms take more time and effort, so they cost more to clean. With us that is exactly the bedroom, bathroom and size-band lines above, published in advance.

Service Frequency: Philadelphia cleaning companies often discount recurring cleanings. Ours are 15% weekly, 10% every 2 weeks and 5% every 4 weeks.

Home Condition: If your home hasn't been cleaned by professionals for a while, or has tough dirt spots, the cleaning takes longer, and some companies charge extra for it. Our prices have no condition line: if a home needs more than a Standard clean, the Deep tier is the heavier scope, and pet hair has its own $25 Pet Shed Removal add-on.

Product Type: Some companies charge more for eco-friendly or hypoallergenic products. Ours are included: plant-based, low-fragrance products and HEPA-filter equipment are the default on every visit, not an upsell. If you have a sensitivity or a preferred product, note it when you book.

Number of Cleaners: Some cleaning companies send one person, others a team, and some charge per hour or per person when more cleaners are involved. Our price is per visit, however the visit is staffed.

Add-On Services: Extras like laundry, the inside of the oven or organizing are usually not included in a basic cleaning. Ours run from $20 to $60 each, listed above.

Arrival Window: Our standard 2-hour window adds nothing. A 5-hour flexible window takes $10 off, an all-day window takes $15 off, and a locked priority slot adds $15.

Hourly vs flat-rate cleaning prices

Hourly Rates

Some providers bill by the hour, per cleaner. You can cap the time or the budget, but tasks may go unfinished when the clock runs out, and the price you are quoted up front is an estimate rather than a total. Hometress does not price house cleaning hourly.

Flat Rates

Flat-rate pricing, usually determined by the size of your home and the type of service, provides clear and consistent costs. Many cleaning providers in Philadelphia have a fixed fee, so you know exactly how much it will cost from the start. This is useful for budgeting and is often used for thorough or move-out cleanings.

Saving money on home cleaning services

  • Choose regular service. Frequent cleanings keep dirt from building up, and a plan takes its discount off every visit.
  • Pick the tier, then the add-ons. If you need several interior tasks, check whether a higher tier already includes them before adding them one by one.
  • Widen the arrival window. If your schedule allows, a flexible or all-day window lowers the price.
  • Ask about first-visit offers. Ours is the first-cleaning offer above.

Choosing the right cleaning service in Philadelphia

When picking a cleaning service, it's not just about the price. It's important to find a trustworthy company that meets your needs and provides clear pricing.

Consider Local Knowledge: Companies in Philadelphia might better understand local issues, such as seasonal changes that affect cleaning (like pollen or salt from winter roads).

Read Reviews and Ratings: Customer reviews can tell you about a company’s reliability, quality, and customer service, helping you find a reliable cleaning service.

See the Total Before You Pay: Pricing should be legible before you commit. With Hometress, you enter your home and service details in the booking flow and see the exact total before payment.

The booking form asks for your bedrooms, bathrooms and size band, builds this same receipt as you answer, and shows the exact total before you pay. Start a booking to see yours, or browse all of our cleaning cost guides.
