How pay is set

Set by the visit, not the clock.

A visit's pay is built from published lines: the type of clean, the bedrooms, the bathrooms and the size of the home, plus a line for each add-on the household picks. None of them is an hourly rate, and the total is shown before you accept the visit.

    Hometress works with background-checked independent cleaning professionals. The check is part of vetting, with a short reference call and a standards walkthrough.

  • Liability insurance

    Hometress carries general liability insurance that may cover damage resulting directly from a cleaner's negligence during a visit, with the exclusions in Section 5.5 of the Terms.

It depends on the type of clean and the home, and the pay for any visit is shown before you accept it. For the example homes on this page, a visit pays $154 to $343 before tips. A 1 bed · 1 bath Standard clean pays $154; a 3 bed · 1.5 bath rowhome pays $192.50 on Standard and $252 on Deep.

Is the pay hourly?

No. Pay is set per visit: the type of clean, the bedrooms, the bathrooms and the size of the home each carry a published amount. The same list publishes a time for each of those, which is the visit length shown beside the pay here. A 3 bed · 1.5 bath rowhome Standard clean is 3 hr 15 min and pays $192.50.

Does pay change with the size of the home?

Yes. The bedrooms, the bathrooms and the size band of the home each carry their own published pay. On a Standard clean, the 1 bed · 1 bath pays $154, the 3 bed · 1.5 bath rowhome pays $192.50, the 4 bed · 2.5 bath pays $231. The size band's own line adds nothing on the 1 bed · 1 bath, $21 on the 3 bed · 1.5 bath rowhome, $42 on the 4 bed · 2.5 bath.

Do add-ons pay more?

Yes. Every add-on a household picks carries its own published pay and time, on top of the visit: from $14 for Laundry Wash & Dry (Per Load) to $42 for Clean Interior Windows (6 Max).

Does a recurring plan change the pay?

These figures are for a one-time visit. When a household books a recurring plan, the plan's discount can lower the pay for those visits as well. The pay for any visit is shown before you accept it.

Are tips included in these figures?

No. Tips are separate and optional, and none of the figures on this page includes one.
